a new kiND of therapy

to be nobody-but-yourself — in a world which is doing its best, night and day, to make you everybody else — means to fight the hardest battle which any human being can fight; and never stop fighting.

mission

kiND provides psychotherapy services for people at all ages and stages with a variety of presenting problems. By establishing kiND, my mission is to create a supportive space where, together, we can face fear with compassion, courageously embrace openness and honesty, and find relief in human connection. kiND acknowledges that we all deserve to feel seen and accepted for who we are and to find belonging in the presence of genuine care. I believe that the therapeutic relationship itself is one of the most valuable tools we have to help you find and use your inner strength. My goal is to help you see your worth, find your fit, and regain your confidence so you can flourish as your best self.

how do I know if kind is right
for me?

I could tell you everything there is to know about me, but our work together is really about you.

You’ll likely feel confident and successful in working with me if you:

  • appreciate self-reflection, humor, and direct, compassionate feedback.

  • value honesty and trust so we can approach our process with openness and curiosity.

  • understand that our relationship is collaborative, and that you are the expert in your life.

  • agree to make a real commitment to yourself and your personal growth.

FAQs

What do I need to have with me for my first session?
Please bring your insurance card to our first session, if applicable. It’s also helpful to have an idea of what brings you in to therapy, including any questions or feelings you may have about the process.

How much do you charge?
For out of network/direct pay clients, my current rate is $160 for the initial/”intake” session and $145 for subsequent/follow up sessions.

Do you take insurance?
I accept Blue Cross/Blue Shield PPO and Blue Choice.  Please call your insurance provider so they can verify and explain your mental health benefits before we meet.  I am not credentialed with any other insurance providers right now, but I am happy to give you a Superbill statement to submit to your insurance for reimbursement of your out of network benefits.

How long are sessions?
Our first session together is usually about 60 minutes. Follow up sessions are just under an hour, typically about 55 minutes. This is often an optimal length of time to help us work on what you need.

What’s your approach to therapy?
My integrative approach means that I carefully select and use a variety of treatment techniques to best suit your specific needs. I am also very relational and attachment-focused in my work and therefore view the therapeutic relationship itself as an important vehicle for change. As a social worker, I use a person-in-environment perspective and see you not only as an individual with needs but also as a person surrounded by context. Key foundations of my approach are compassion, collaboration, courage, and care, no matter what interventions I use or plan we create together.

Do you prescribe medication or do neuropsychological testing?
As a social worker, I do not prescribe medication. I also am not a neuropsychologist and do not provide neuropsych testing. While that’s not what I do, I am more than happy to provide referrals as needed.

Do you only work with neurodivergent people?
While I specialize in ADHD and autism, I work with a variety of folx who struggle with things like anxiety, depression, and mood, trauma, parenting, grief/loss, relationships, and more. I don’t treat your neurotype— I treat your needs. I work with a wide variety of different kinds of people of all ages— from early childhood and throughout adulthood.
