neurodivergence child development emotional wellness

I provide the following services:

Psychotherapy

I use an integrative, compassionate, relationship-based approach that builds on your unique strengths. My objective is never to make you look or act like someone else—and it’s not to convince or sell you on what I think, either. Instead, we work together to help you be yourself in the best way possible, focusing on your specific goals. For individuals, families, and couples, the plan is the same: to help you live your best lives, together. psychotherapy for adults | psychotherapy for couples | psychotherapy for children + families

Consulting/consultation

I provide consulting services for organizations both big and small. My experience in preschool settings offers another set of eyes to help you problem-solve, just when you thought you’ve seen everything. It’s my pleasure to consult with fellow clinicians, pediatric therapists, teachers, and others to share a kiNDer strengths-based approach and support your cultural competence. I also help companies remain competitive and culturally accepting in a market that’s increasingly seeking to recruit neurodivergent talent and out-of-the-box thinkers.

Training + Speaking Events

My experience as a performer adds ease and engagement to my dynamic presentation style. I am thrilled to share my passion with your business or organization— and to tailor that information to your specific needs. For workshops and trainings, I bring hands-on activities and innovative approaches to learning that help your team not only increase their knowledge, but have fun doing it, too.

Sample presentation descriptions include:

  • Getting Into Neurodiversity: How do I start, and where do I go? Neurodiversity is a word that's garnered a lot of recent attention, but many people are still unsure about what it is and how to implement this anti-oppressive perspective into their current work.  From an inside view of lived experience, this introduction to Neurodiversity will help you speak to what Neurodiversity is and learn new ways to better support Neurodivergent people.  This presentation will offer current research, practical tools, new insights, and further questions to explore, giving you the resources you need to ground, challenge, and guide your continued learning in this exciting and necessary aspect of your work.  This training is an ideal fit for professionals and other staff in fields such as Developmental Therapies, Education, Medicine, Psychotherapy, Psychology, Psychotherapy, Social Work, and beyond.

  • Birds of a Feather: When Autism and ADHD "Flock Together" Neurodivergent people, especially Autistics and ADHDers, are often drawn to each other due to shared experiences of the world.  Autism and ADHD are sometimes described as "cousin" experiences, and many people even identify with both!  This presentation will explore common traits of Autistic experience, ADHD, and "AuDHD" (when a person identifies as both Autistic and ADHD) with support from up-to-date research and principles of Neurodiversity-affirming care.  Presented by a clinician with lived experience of AuDHD, this training will answer some frequently asked questions around some common similarities and key differences of Autism and ADHD while also providing insight and practical considerations for when these experiences occur together.  Demand avoidance will also be addressed, both as a general phenomenon and within the Autistic PDA profile specifically.  This training is well suited for professionals in helping fields, including Developmental Therapies, Education, Medicine, Psychotherapy, Psychology, and Social Work, as well as individuals eager to dig a little deeper into the nuances, overlaps, and complexities of Neurodivergent experiences.

  • Cultural Humility with Neurodivergent Populations Neurodiversity is a natural phenomenon like biodiversity, touching every corner of the world and enriching a wide variety of environments.  Because it spans such a range of experiences, sometimes it can be hard to tell who "counts" as Neurodivergent, what practices are truly affirming, and what seems like just popularized trends.  This presentation will help to flesh out the inclusivity of Neurodivergence, grounded in the perspective of multiply-Neurodivergent lived experience and clinical insight, to help participants learn not only the "who" and "what" of working with Neurodivergent people but also the "why" and "how."  As an ever-changing and quickly evolving area in many fields, this presentation expands upon introductory concepts of Neurodiversity-affirming care to support cultural humility, curiosity, and confidence for professionals and staff who want to dive deeper into working with the Neurodivergent diaspora.  This presentation is appropriate for people who have a basic knowledge of, and appreciation for, Neurodiversity and wish to deepen their understanding of Neurodivergence within other anti-oppressive practices.
